Dr. Fredrik Nordstrom leads a solid state and crystallization group within the Material and Analytical Science department at Boehringer-Ingelheim, Ridgefield, CT. The Solid State Chemistry group is responsible for identifying and characterizing solid forms of the API and develop scalable crystallization processes. He earned his Ph.D. in 2008 from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, in chemical engineering on the topic of crystallization. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years, starting at AbbVie in 2008 and then in 2016 moving to Boehringer-Ingelheim. His current research interests are in the area of impurity rejection mechanisms in crystallization and crystalline solid solutions. He is the author and co-author of >40 peer-reviewed publications and patents.
