Dr. Rajni Miglani Bhardwaj, Pfizer

Rajni Miglani Bhardwaj is Associate Research Fellow at Pfizer. She completed her undergraduation in pharmacy at MD University, India (2003), masters in medicinal chemistry at NIPER, India (2005) and worked in drug discovery organization of Dr. Reddy’s, India and Ranbaxy, India for ~4 years. She then moved to United Kingdom (University of Strathclyde, Scotland) through a Commonwealth Scholarship program (by Her Majesty) where she received her PhD degree in solid-state chemistry. Her graduate work has received “Springer Theses award” recognizing outstanding PhD thesis. After doing a short post-doc, she joined solid-state research group at Eli Lilly in 2014 where her responsibilities included solid state form discovery & selection of small molecules and peptides. She was a key contributor of digital solid-state design team, and her team was also responsible for crystallography for small molecules within Eli Lilly. She joined solid state chemistry group at Abbvie in 2020 and was responsible for solid state form discovery and selection of small molecules. In addition, she led in-silico solid-state team who was responsible for developing high-fidelity state of the art computational tools to aid molecule design, solid state form design and material design. She joined Material Science group at Pfizer in 2023 and is currently a group leader responsible for design of solid form & particle attributes for optimal performance. She has authored 32 research articles in peer reviewed journals and various conference presentations and posters. She is a member of American Crystallographic Association (ACA), Women in Pharmaceutical Society-American association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS-WIPS) and represents Pfizer at CFC consortium and IQ-computational chemistry working group.
