Lotfi completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering as top student in 1993 from University of Science and Technology, Oran, Algeria. He then obtained his master’s in Industrial Chemistry in 1994 and his PhD in Process Engineering from University Claude Bernard, Lyon, France, in 1999. He then held a postdoctoral position with CNRS, France, where he conducted pioneering studies on the application of in situ infrared spectroscopy to monitor and control crystallization processes from impure solutions. Lotfi has been working in API process development with a focus on particle formation and isolation for 20 + years. Lotfi published 19 research articles mainly in particle formation and control and authored 5 patents in crystallization and solid state. Lotfi currently holds a position at GlaxoSmithKline as an Associate Director/Crystallization Subjet Matter Expert within Drug Substance Development
