Shuang Chen is currently a Senior Principal Scientist in Small Molecule CMC Development organization at AbbVie. He has over 18 years of pharmaceutical development experience with specialties in molecular profiling, solid state chemistry, API crystallization process and control strategy development. At AbbVie, Shuang has played a key role in the development and commercialization of several life-saving medicines including Viekira, Mavyret, Produodopa, and Venclexta. He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of British Columbia in Canada before completing a postdoctoral appointment in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has published over 25 scientific papers and 2 book chapters and is an inventor of 19 patents.
